Groups are ongoing discussion spaces within the Community, organized around specific themes of interest or need.

These groups are WhatsApp-based discussion spaces that provide a structured place for community members to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and connect around common themes.

Each Thematic Group is expected to have at least two project ideas or collaborative outputs per year emerging from discussions. This ensures groups go beyond talk and contribute to the wider network.

Next Steps:

Ready to get involved? SOLAH is built by the community, for the community. Whether you want to join a group, start a project, or simply stay connected, your contribution matters. Take the next step today and be part of shaping Lombok’s future.

Not at all. Groups are about connecting people with shared interests. Projects can be led by one motivated member or by a team of collaborators from the group.

The goal is to make it easy to find partners and support, not to require everyone to take part.

As a Group Coordinator, or member you’re not alone—your role is simply to flag issues, not solve them. SOLAH’s team takes full responsibility for handling conflict.

If conflict arises:

  1. Forward the offending messages to SOLAH’s Business WhatsApp. (The SOLAH number will always be in the group of every official chat)
  2. SOLAH will step in to manage the situation and take appropriate action.

For more serious issues, you can formally escalate through the Complaints Form.

Theoretically, yes—you’re welcome to join multiple groups!

But please keep in mind:

  • To keep chats focused and active, members must contribute at least once every 4 months with a constructive message. If not, you may be removed from the group.
  • Each group has a dedicated Joining Form which you must complete before being accepted into the group chat.

Don’t worry—you’re not alone! Here are some easy ways to jump in:

  • Head to our Group Directory for an overview of all our groups.
  • Read each group’s bio or visit their webpage to learn more.

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Get in touch—we’ll help you start a new group!

Theoretically, no—you don’t need to live in Lombok!

But when you join, you’ll need to tell the other members why you’re interested in the discussion through the Group specific Joining Form. You will not be able to join a group without completing the form.
